Support Mark Jennings in Joining the Fight Against Brain Cancer!

Jennings Print General Manager, Mark Jennings, has committed to the Mark Hughes Foundation Mt Kilimanjaro Trek to make a difference and join the fight against brain cancer. This year a group of 25 MHF supporters will trek to the summit of not only Africa’s tallest peak, but the world’s tallest freestanding mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. The summit, named Uhuru Point, is 5895 metres (19,341 feet) above sea level. It is a significant challenge, but nothing compared to what those battling brain cancer go through. Brain Cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in children and those under 40 years of age.

join us in jennings in raising awareness

Join us in raising awareness, but most importantly vital funds with a target of $600,000 this year. This funding is required to support a Brain Care Coordinator in regional and remote NSW. Following diagnosis, brain cancer patients travel to major hospitals in our capital cities and large regional centres for treatment. This initial care and treatment is expertly delivered for these patients with face to face care. Care Coordinators assist patients with their multi-disciplinary care, assist with access to clinical trial opportunities and coordinate allied health services. Following this initial treatment, many patients are able to travel home to receive follow up treatments and other allied health services closer to family and friends. However, for those living in regional or rural areas, Brain Cancer Care Coordination services are not readily available on the ground. These patients struggle to access these treatments, trials and services without the expert assistance city patients receive. This $600,000 will contribute towards a multi-year project, which will see a Brain Cancer Care Coordinator service patients and their carer’s across northern NSW, both remotely and with face to face assistance. This pilot project will also evaluate all current models of remote care to develop a best practice model for future expansion of support services by providers across the country.

“As a business, Jennings Print has been a proud supporter of the foundation since day 1… and this is a great opportunity on a personal level in which I can contribute in the fight against brain cancer and in helping find a cure. I’m inspired by the work of the Mark Hughes Foundation and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in Kilimanjaro Trek, Tanzania 2019. I would be most appreciative if you could please help me help the Mark Hughes Foundation by giving whatever you can– Mark Jennings
